Submission Guidelines

Although you are strongly encouraged to scan and/or shoot your images to the largest size available, you may not turn in files any larger than the stated guidelines below. You will need to save the larger copy of your image as a separate file with a different name.

Finished images to be handed in – file size guidelines.
1. Image can be up to 8 inches x 10 inches x 150 ppi but no larger.
It is a good idea to work on the larger version for yourself, in case you want
to print your image. A good working size might be 8x10x300. But, make
sure you resize the file to no larger than 8x10 inches x 150 ppi before submitting.
(CAREFUL: 8 x 10.001 is larger than 8x10.)

2. Image must include all layers, channels, etc. Do not flatten.

3. Image name must follow specific naming guidelines.
            Yourname.submission#.category.psd
            Example: sue.1.handcolor.psd

Original image to be handed in – file size guidelines – required only for retouch.
4. Image can be up to 8 inches x 10 inches x 72 ppi,

5. Original image, for retouch category, must not have any layers channels, etc.
If this has any layers go to Layer > flatten.

6. Original image, for retouch category, must follow specific naming guidelines.
Yourname.submission#.categoryoriginal.jpg
Example: sue.2.retouchoriginal.jpg

You MAY turn in original images for other categories, if you think it would be beneficial to you for me to see them, but you are only REQUIRED to turn in an original for the Retouch Category.

Finished Images – layer guidelines.
            7. Name all layers.
Layer names should be appropriate to the function of the layer, for example a hue saturation layer used to whiten teeth should be named ‘whiten teeth’.

Not following these guidelines EXACTLY will result in 1/3rd loss to your grade.
